The vibrant city of Miami is alive with anticipation as the FIFA World Cup 2026 Fan Festival officially begins at Bayfront Park. This free, open-air event promises to be a hub of excitement, bringing together football enthusiasts from around the globe to enjoy the matches in a lively atmosphere.
From June 13 to July 5, the park at 301 Biscayne Boulevard will host thousands of fans, offering a unique experience with four massive screens, live music, and a variety of food and drink vendors. Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava expressed her enthusiasm, stating that “everyone is welcome, all ages… they will be able to watch the games for free, while they are enjoying the music, the dancing, the food.”
Festival highlights and security measures
The festival features a packed schedule of matches, with the first games kicking off on June 13. Fans can enjoy a range of group stage matches, including Mexico vs. South Africa and U.S. vs. Paraguayas well as later rounds leading up to the final on July 19.
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, organizers have implemented several security measures. These include metal detectors, a clear bag policy (bags larger than 12 inches by 6 inches are not allowed), and a ban on items such as vaping devices, smoking materials, chairs, blankets, tents, scooters, air horns, laser pointers, and inflatables. Outside food and beverages are also prohibited, except for baby food.
Traffic advisories and additional watch parties
With the influx of visitors, the Miami Police Department has issued traffic advisories, particularly for June 13, when a large number of inbound cruise ships are expected to arrive. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time, especially between NE 1st St. and NE 13th St., where delays are anticipated from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
