Compared to the national average, Florida drivers are paying nearly 10.9% less for their fuel, placing the state among the most affordable areas in the country for gas. For context, the most expensive gas can be found in California at $5.696 per gallon, while the cheapest is in Texas at $3.561 per gallon.
The lower fuel costs in Florida provide a welcome break for drivers, especially as the summer travel season gets underway. The gap between gas and diesel prices remains substantial, with diesel currently averaging $5.21 per gallon nationwide.
