A Severe Flash Flood Warning is in effect for Putnam County, Florida, until 3:30 PM EDT today, August 8, 2026. The warning was issued by the National Weather Service in Jacksonville.
The warning covers central Putnam County. Doppler radar indicates that thunderstorms have produced between 3 and 4.5 inches of rain. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
A Flash Flood Warning indicates that flooding is imminent or occurring. Small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas, may experience flash flooding.
