A Severe Flood Warning is in effect for Lake and Volusia counties in Florida, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The warning is in effect until September 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM EDT.
The warning affects the St. Johns River near Astor. The river is expected to very slowly subside from 2.6 feet tonight to 2.3 feet late this week. Minor flooding is occurring and forecast.
A Flood Warning indicates that flooding is imminent or occurring. Rivers may overflow their banks, and low-lying areas could experience water inundation. Properties near the river may experience water entering yards and docks becoming submerged.
In case of an emergency, dial 911. Follow guidance from the NWS and local authorities. Motorists should avoid driving through flooded areas and should not attempt to drive around barricades.
