A Severe Flood Watch is in effect for portions of the Florida Panhandle, including Central Walton, Coastal Gulf, Holmes, Coastal Bay, Inland Bay, Inland Gulf, North Walton, South Walton, and Washington counties. The watch is in effect from 11:00 AM EDT /10:00 AM CDT/ on October 3, 2026, through Monday morning, October 5, 2026, at 8:00 AM EDT.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued this alert due to the potential for excessive rainfall. Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall are expected Saturday afternoon through at least early Monday morning. Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are expected, with locally higher amounts of up to 10 inches possible. This may lead to flash flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas.
Residents in the affected areas should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. In case of an emergency, dial 911. Follow the guidance provided by the NWS and local authorities. To prepare, avoid low-lying areas and be ready to move to higher ground if necessary. Ensure that you have a plan in place and necessary supplies on hand.
